$61.00 PER DIEM
DID SAANICH RESIDENT AND
B. C. LIBERAL MINISTER IDA CHONG
REALLY SPEND THAT MUCH
ON VIC. LEG. RESTAURANT MEALS?
I find it shameful that in these difficult financial times when all public servants, government service and citizens have done serious belt-tightening, Ida Chong lacks the common sense to cut back her per diem claims.
“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” is a quotation Chong should take to heart.
While she is entitled to these expenses, does she really need to claim them?
Unless she is spending the full $61 per day for meals at the Legislature - which is doubtful – I am sure she is aware that this is the equivalent of a tax-free bonus at the expense of all taxpayers.
