Oh look, it’s me Stack Real Estate and Lisa Helps. Nice to hear that Lisa and I actually see eye to eye on a bunch of things. Talking to Dean Fortin tomorrow to compare. What do you guys think about the Mayor’s race? Who are you supporting?

  • Sunny Blue Gardeners Hi Ian. Just wondering why your pamphlet is shown (back and front) in Lisa Helps’ campaign office window on Fort St…still, after many weeks. Do you support Lisa Helps for Mayor? Are you a member of any political party? Thanks for answering these questions in a timely manner, Ian… GPM Hartnell, Victoria residential property taxpayer-voter-citizen

    • Ian Hoar for Victoria City Council I’m not publicly endorsing any mayoral candidate out of respect for future working relationships. I will be happy to work with any mayor to make this city a better place. If you’d like to know who I’m personally supporting I’d be happy to sit down for a coffee and lay out my thoughts.
    • Sunny Blue Gardeners Thanks. With all due respect, Ian, you didn’t really answer my questions. I asked you whether you support Lisa Helps for mayor and whether you are a member of any political party. Having a neutral public posture, ‘not publicly endorsing any mayoral candidate,’ as you put it, and then admitting that you have candidates who you are ‘personally supporting’ is troubling, as it suggests to me that you aren’t being straightforward with me, and that you might have a secret agenda. Your signs are blood red, Ian. Are you a member of the Communist Party of Canada, the Liberal Party of Canada or any other party that uses red in its signage? Thanks for trying again to answer my simple questions, if you will, and then I will stop pestering you, my friend…. Hartnell
    • Ian Hoar for Victoria City Council I like to think of them as a cute coral pink but I guess I should talk to my printers if some came out crimson. Not running for any political party, not funded by any party, no affiliation. When I vote, I vote NDP or Green usually.

When I say I am personally supporting a candidate, I have used my vote to support a mayoral candidate, but don’t wish to disclose that to preserve future working relationships

    • Sunny Blue Gardeners Ok, Ian. I guess I have to accept that as your idea of ‘transparency’. Thanks for admitting that you ‘vote NDP or Green usually.’ Peace. GPMH
