Re: The darkness and the light, Nov. 16

It is a huge mistake for Canadian governments, whether Liberal or Conservative, to get involved in either side of an ancient Islamic theological dispute.

As most of the current demonic terror attacks seem to be of Sunni or Salafi origin, we could be caught fighting for the Shia forever, or at least, until their terror groups prevail for a while over the Sunnis…

The Liberals promised during the recent election campaign to stop bombing attacks against suspected Sunni terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

They should stop the bombing immediately.

Prudent non-intervention will reduce ‘blowback.’

However, Canadians need real security in our own land, and that will never happen with the current open door immigration policies.

Certainly it is imprudent to hurry bringing in 25,000 refugee claimants without rigorous vetting before year’s end.

Preference should be given to properly vetted innocent Christians, non-Zionist Jews and others with no history of support for, or membership in hateful terrorist groups of any kind.

Instead of training armed Kurdish separatists, armed Canadian troops should be stationed outside churches, mosques and synagogues here in Canada, to protect the peace.
